대체 에너지란?
대체 에너지는 현재 사용되고 있는 에너지를 대신하여 미래에 사용될 에너지이다.
현재 우리가 사용하고 있는 석유와 석탄, 천연가스는 환경을 오염시킬 뿐만 아니라
가까운 미래에 없어질 것이라고 한다. 따라서 깨끗하고 영구적인 새 에너지가 필요하다.
현재 여러 나라의 과학자들이 태양, 수소, 바람, 파도 등을 대체 에너지로 이용할 수
있는 방법을 연구하고 있다.

What is alternative energy?
Alternative energy is the energy we will be using in the future to replace what we are using now. The oil and coal we are using now not only pollutes the environment but it will not last too long in the future. Therefore, we need a clean source of energy that will also last forever. Scientists from many different countries are suggesting to use the wind, wave, sun, and hydrogen as energy sources.

태양 에너지
태양 에너지는 태양의 열과 빛에서 얻을 수 있다. 태양 에너지는 영구적이기 때문에
없어질 걱정이 없고 환경 오염을 일으키지 않으며 쉽게 얻을 수 있다. 예를 들어, 태양열
주택은 낮에 태양의 열로 물을 데워 두었다가 밤에 집을 난방하고 따뜻한 물을 사용할
수 있도록 만들어진 집이다. 또 태양 빛을 전기 에너지로 바꾸어 쓰는 태양 건전지도
있다. 그러나 흐린 날에는 사용할 수 없다는 단점이 있다.

Solar Energy
Solar energy may be used from the sun's heat and light. Because solar power is everlasting, there is no worry that we will run out nor does it cause environmental pollution.?It is also easy to obtain. For example, solar houses use the sun's heat to heat water, and at night, the house is heated and the water can be used. Also, there are batteries that can change the sun's light into energy. However, the drawback is that we won't be able to use those batteries on cloudy days.

수소 에너지
수소는 물에서 무한히 얻을 수 있으며 수소를 태워서 연료로 쓰고 남는 것은 물밖에
없기 때문에 환경을 오염시키지 않는다. 일상 생활에서 수소를 연료로 하는 자동차가
널리 사용된다면 지금보다 공기가 훨씬 깨끗해질 것이다. 그러나 수소는 부피가 너무
크고 쉽게 폭발한다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 연구가 계속 진행
중이다.

Hydrogen energy
Hydrogen energy may be made from water and the only thing left over from burning hydrogen to make fuel is water, so it does not pollute the environment. If hydrogen cars are more widely used in our daily life, the air will be much cleaner than it is now. The drawback with hydrogen is that it takes up a lot of volume and there is danger of explosion. There are studies underway to solve these issues.

그 밖의 에너지
바다에서도 에너지를 얻을 수 있다. 파도가 1m의 높이로 칠 때 6~10kw의 전기를
얻을 수 있다고 한다. 또한 밀물과 썰물의 차이를 이용하여, 밀물이 밀려올 때 바닷물을
모아 두었다가 썰물 때에 물을 내보내는 힘으로 전기를 얻기도 한다. 그 외에도
지하에서 발생하는 지구의 열이나 바람의 힘을 이용하여 에너지를 얻을 수도 있다.

Other energies
We can earn energy from the ocean. When the wave reaches the height of 1 meter, then we can earn 6~10kw of energy. Also, the difference in in-flow and out-flow of tides are used, where water is stored when the tide flows in and electrical energy is gained when the tide flows out. There is also the underground heat of earth and power of wind that produces energy.
